Amara Nwuneli

Amara Nwuneli is a social innovator, creative producer, and published author whose work bridges policy, storytelling, and advocacy. As the founder of Preserve Our Roots, a youth-led NGO, she mobilizes civic action through educational advocacy, climate storytelling, and grassroots initiatives. A recognized force in global climate justice spaces, Amara has represented youth voices on UN platforms, delivered high-impact talks on climate equity and creative activism, and served on panels across the world.
She served as the CP for Arts, Culture and Heritage WG in YOUNGO, the UNFCCC’s youth constituency, advancing the role of culture in environmental policy. Her creative work includes producing the award-winning documentary “The Heat of Change”, authoring her debut poetry collection For We Are Curious, among many. Currently, Amara is working to build three sustainable public parks in Nigeria, constructed from recycled materials and designed as models of circular, climate-resilient urban spaces.
