Asima Jansveld is a consultant on infrastructure reuse, cultural programming and strategy, and peer network development for clients such as the High Line and Whitney Museum of American Art. Previously, she was the chief program and engagement officer for the High Line, leading the elevated rail park’s public art, community engagement, education, and public programming. She also led the High Line Network, a strategic hub for leaders reimagining urban infrastructure as equitable public spaces.

Previously, Asima served as a principal in both the Inclusive Cities and Resilience practices at HR&A Advisors, deputy programme manager of the European Urban Knowledge Network, and vice president at the NYC Economic Development Corporation. Asima regularly contributes internationally to thought leadership on issues of equitable development and public spaces. She also serves on the board of the Rialto Center for Creativity, working to transform a historic movie theatre into a dynamic center for the arts.


We must continue to push forward the ideas, people and voices that are shaping a future world that inspires, brings joy, and builds connection. It can be too easy to get swept up in negativity and divisiveness, and communities like The World Around help us remember there is beauty still to be uplifted and found around every corner.
