Elizabeth Hoover is an American social scientist specializing in environmental science, policy, and Indigenous food sovereignty. She is associate professor in the Department of Environmental Science, Policy and Management at the University of California, Berkeley. Her research interests and learning activities center around food and seed sovereignty, environmental health, prescribed fire, wildland firefighters, and the growing movement for international fire training. She has published articles about food sovereignty, environmental reproductive justice, the cultural impact of fish advisories, tribal citizen science, health social movements, and cultural and social associations with fire.
