Francesca Norrington

Francesca Norrington is a writer, editor, and journalist who has studied at UAL in London, IE in Madrid, and Parsons in New York. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Environment, Culture, and Society at the University of Edinburgh's School of Geosciences. Her dissertation is a political ecology of the next human step on the moon and its broader role in imperial conquest, and the resulting strain on planetary barriers of restraint. Building on her undergraduate capstone project, Francesca is also developing a manuscript titled The Ocean Nation, which asks: “What if the High Seas were a country?” This scholarly work investigates the historical and literary aspects of humanity's relationship with the oceans through stories, examining the estrangement between humans and non-human entities.
