Jaffer Kolb is co-founder and principal of New York-based New Affiliates Architecture and on faculty at MIT’s School of Architecture. The studio’s work has been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art, the Swiss Institute, and Storefront for Art and Architecture among others, and has appeared in a range of publications including the New York Times, the Guardian, Dwell, and New York Magazine. They have been awarded a Bessie for Outstanding Visual Design, a Design Excellence Award from New York’s Public Design Commission, the League Prize, and a New York New Practices award by the AIA. Previously he worked on the 13th Venice Architecture Biennial under David Chipperfield, and before that was the US editor for the Architectural Review.

I'm most excited about The World Around's unique ability to synthesize ideas between brilliant young activists and established professionals, and to lay out an open platform through which to do this important work.
