Thomas Thwaites
Thomas Thwaites is a British designer and writer who researches the complex impacts technology has on humans, with a particular focus on climate change, economics, and environmental justice. His first book, The Toaster Project, follows his attempt to make an electric toaster from scratch. It was followed by GoatMan, which documents Thwaites’s project to “take a holiday” from being human by imitating a goat. Thwaites’s work has been exhibited at galleries and museums across six continents including MoMA and the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum in New York, the National Museum of China in Beijing, and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Seoul. He is an associate lecturer at Central Saint Martins, University of Arts London.
