Top Manta, whose name comes from the Spanish word mantero, or street vendor, is a non-profit clothing brand based in Barcelona. The initiative came out of the Popular Union of Street Vendors, composed of more than 200 manteros, with the aim of improving the working and living conditions of its members. Through its screen-printing and sewing workshop, Top Manta trains vendors and gives them access to the formal labor market, while ​​creating communication campaigns that denounce the injustices of the system that excludes them from it. After opening their first clothing store in 2018, in the Raval neighborhood of Barcelona, they registered as a non-profit organization, the Top Manta Cooperative, in 2020. Since the Union was founded, more than 200 of its members have been able to leave behind selling on the streets, regularize their administrative situation, and begin a life with rights.
