For more than a decade, SO–IL has reinvented the social role of buildings to foster dialogue between people and their environments, completing projects in Leon, Seoul, and Lisbon, and across the USA. All completed in the past two years, the three apartment buildings on our Chairman's Circle tour represented something of a homecoming to the Brooklyn-based studio, each one an iteration in its ongoing exploration of new models for living together in the city.

The tour was led by Florian Idenburg and Jing Liu, co-founders of SO–IL, and Sebastián Mendez of Tankhouse, the projects’ developer. The itinerary concluded with a drinks reception hosted at 9 Chapel Street, our final destination.
