Alexis Sablone

Alexis Sablone is an architect, designer, and multidisciplinary artist—as well as a professional skateboarder and Olympian. Their practice often brings together their two worlds of architecture and skateboarding through the design of “playscapes” and large-scale sculptures in an ongoing investigation into the use of public space. Sablone holds a BA from Columbia University, and a master’s degree in Architecture from MIT, where they were an Ida C. Green Fellow and the recipient of the Imre Halasz Thesis Prize. Sablone is currently a fellow at University of Chicago’s Gray Center for Arts and Inquiry, where they have previously taught.
