About Summit 2024

On Saturday, May 11, 2024, The World Around and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum co-presented the organization’s fifth annual Summit in New York. This day-long program of talks and conversations showcased groundbreaking projects from across the globe, with a special focus on the critical intersections of architecture, ecological responsibility, and social justice. An exceptional interdisciplinary roster—spanning architecture, landscape, urbanism, material innovation, housing, and cultural spaces—shared bold, imaginative responses to the most pressing challenges of our time. Highlights included a special panel on the planetary landscape, co-curated and presented in partnership with The World Around’s global cultural partner, Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain, offering new perspectives on the relationship between the built environment and the natural world. Together, these voices celebrated architecture’s power to envision resilient, equitable, and inspiring futures.
