Germane Barnes

Germane Barnes is a Miami-based architect and designer. He is the founder of Studio Barnes, a research and design practice that investigates the connection between architecture and identity. The studio’s hands-on approach is based in both historical and field research. Germane’s work has been exhibited at international institutions, most notably The Art Institute of Chicago, the Venice Biennale, The Museum of Modern Art in New York, San Francisco MOMA, DesignMiami/Basel, Denver Art Museum, and the National Museum of African American History. He is an associate professor and director of the Master of Architecture Graduate Program at the University of Miami School of Architecture.
