Pamela is a documentary photographer from Mexico, who has built a body of visual work and organizations around climate justice and gender equality, including Climate Words and Latinas for Climate.

With degrees from Parsons School of Design in New York and the University of the Arts London, she combines design and storytelling to address the climate crisis. She received the Getty Images Scholarship to complete her MA in Photojournalism, and was later selected as a CNN and Rockefeller Foundation Climate Storytelling Fellow, joining a cohort of 15 journalists to highlight climate impacts.

In 2021, Pamela co-founded Climate Words, an online lexicon making climate literacy accessible through definitions crafted by frontline experts. For this work, she received the Young Climate Voice Award 2023 from The World Around, and was named a Young Explorer 2024 by The Explorers Club and Adventure Canada. Through these roles, Pamela continues to drive climate action and inspire collective change.

I’m grateful to be part of The World Around community. From joining the inaugural Young Climate Prize cohort and receiving the Young Climate Voice Award to now advising the prize, it excites me to continue connecting with and learning from inspiring young changemakers and leaders tackling urgent social and environmental challenges to build a more just and sustainable world.
