Sepake Angiama
Sepake Angiama is the artistic director of the Iniva (the Institute of International Visual Arts) in London, whose focus is to center the voices of African, Caribbean, Asian & Diaspora artists and their communities. A curator and educator, Angiama is the initiator of Under The Mango Tree, a gathering of practices that centers indigenous knowledge within artist-led project spaces, libraries, and schools. While at the Royal College of Art in London Angiama co-organized the Office of Real Time Activity, an organization investigating the notion of institutional time. Her exhibitions and projects include We Are Technology at the Pauza Gallery in Krakow (2008), Remember a Future Past (2007), and The House that Herman Built (2008), for which she received the Monique Beudert Award. Previously Angiama was head of education at the International Foundation Manifesta, head of education for documenta 14, and co-curator of the Chicago Architecture Biennial.
