Tatiana Bilbao founded her eponymous studio in 2004 with the aim of integrating research, design, community-based strategies, and responsible construction. Her practice develops architecture as a platform to enhance life across geographies and typologies. Tatiana teaches at Yale University and has held academic positions at different institutions worldwide. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, A+U, Domus, Arquitectura Viva, El País, among others.

Tatiana has been recognized with several awards throughout her career, including the Kunstpreis Berlin in 2012, the Global Award for Sustainable Architecture Prize by the LOCUS Foundation in 2014, the Marcus Prize Award 2019, among many others. In 2025, she was named an honorary fellow of the American Institute of Architects (HFAIA), one of the highest recognitions for non-US-licensed architects. That same year, the Sea of Cortez Research Center project was selected as one of the five finalists for the Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize (MCHAP).
