About Summit 2023

On Earth Day, April 22, 2023, The World Around Summit took place at New York’s Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, uniting global voices under its guiding ethos of “architecture’s now, near & next.” Anchored in climate urgency and design innovation, the event also marked the debut of the Young Climate Prize—a mentorship-driven program recognizing exceptional climate action by emerging leaders under 25. After a bespoke academy and juried selection, three young winners—Pamela Elizarrarás Acitores (Young Climate Voice, Mexico), Foday David Kamara (Young Climate Designer, Sierra Leone), and Namra Khalid (Young Climate Visionary, Pakistan)—along with a special Jury honoree, Aziba Ekio (Nigeria), presented their powerful projects at the summit: a climate lexicon for accessibility, plastic‑waste‑to‑tiles upcycling, urban flooding mapping, and storytelling through spoken‑word poetry.
