E-Cycl

Sahithi Radha raises her hand while addressing the room at an e-waste awareness session.

In schools and university campuses across India, student Sahithi Radha and her team run interactive “awareness sessions” that teach students about the environmental and health dangers of electronic waste. As part of her project E-Cycl, these sessions go beyond education: in partnership with certified recycling organizations, they also collect, safely recycle, and refurbish discarded devices—turning awareness into direct action. By combining advocacy with practical solutions, Sahithi empowers young people to recognize their role in addressing one of the fastest-growing waste streams in the world. As a participant in the Young Climate Prize, Sahithi was mentored by Cyra Levenson, deputy director and head of the Education and Public Engagement Department at the Guggenheim Museum. In her role, Levenson focuses on expanding access to the arts through innovative programming, content development, academic partnerships, and community engagement—expertise that helped guide Sahithi in broadening the educational reach of E-Cycl.
