LightEd

Stanley Anigbogu, a Young Climate Prize finalist from Nigeria, founded LightEd, a system that transforms e-waste into solar-powered lighting solutions using locally sourced materials. Through its program The Light for Peace, LightEd has already provided clean energy to more than 22,000 internally displaced refugees and 500 students, replacing kerosene lamps and candles with safe, sustainable light.

This access to reliable energy has far-reaching impacts: students can study after dark, small businesses can extend their trading hours, and rural communities become safer and more accessible.

Stanley was mentored by Harry Pearce, renowned graphic designer, artist, and partner at Pentagram, the world’s largest independently owned design studio. Pearce’s celebrated portfolio includes design identities for clients as varied as Liberty, Thames & Hudson, the Abu Dhabi cultural quarter, and Pink Floyd.
