The World Around & SMAC Present: The World Around On Site: Venice 

The World Around, the leading curatorial platform for global architecture, and SMAC San Marco Art Centre, a new multi-disciplinary institution in the heart of Venice, were on site for the vernissage days of the 19th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia with an open-to-all preview event, sharing insights into this year’s edition of the seminal architecture exhibition and global convening.

Bringing together the Biennale’s most exciting contributors and observers, the early-morning breakfast roundtable was a morning of animated discussion, offering insider takes on the show to map the most critical ideas in global architecture and design today. 

Our panelists were Wael Al Awar, Stephen Burks, Aric Chen, Eva Franch i Gilabert, Beatrice Galilee, Béatrice Grenier, Ana María Gutiérrez, Malika Leiper,  Kieran Long, Tosin Oshinowo, and Bas Smets.

The World Around On Site: Venice took place Thursday, May 8, at, Procuratie in Piazza San Marco, which houses SMAC on the second floor and the Home of the Human Safety Net on the third floor. The event was hosted at the Auditorium of the Human Safety Net on the third floor.
